The Jungle Book: Human AU

-where Baloo and Bagera are college students sharing a flat off campus, Bagera is a moderately uptight law student with a job at the local pet shelter and often brings injured cats home to take care of

He isn’t quite sure what Baloo is studying because even on those rare occasions he does go to class he never takes any work back with him, he mostly spends his days playing guitar and singing made up songs about random crap and works Sundays at a fruit market for rent money

Kaa is the creepy neighbour who they both try to avoid whenever possible

Mowgli is a homeless kid that Baloo caught climbing through their window in the middle of the night after raiding their fridge, instead of reporting him to the police and finding his parents he decides to keep him, despite the fact that he ends up with Bagera constantly breathing down his neck about how many laws they’re breaking by harbouring this kid and that he’s probably going to sneak away with half their stuff in the night

Mowgli has no intention of running away though since he’s taken such a shine to Baloo, who has become is only friend, other than the stray dogs Mowgli hangs around

They also have the King family who live across the road, Louie King always throws huge ass parties every other night and invites all his cousins, Bagera usually calls the cops on them if it doesn’t ease down by two in the morning so Louie doesn’t like him much, but Baloo crashes the parties sometimes and gets along fine with Louie

Also the landlord is this old military type guy who makes them call him Colonel, the only time he’s not being an uptight ass is when his son is around

My sis and I both came up with this idea
